Japan's bullet train locomotive to be displayed in Britain

KOBE, Japan - A Japanese bullet train locomotive is loaded aboard a freighter in Kobe port March 28 for shipment to Britain for permanent display at the National Railway Museum (NRM) in York, northern England. It will arrive in Southampton via the United States in mid-May. The locomotive car of the first generation model of bullet trains has been donated to the world's largest railway museum by West Japan Railway Co. (JR West).

OSAKA, Japan - West Japan Railway Co. (JR West) said March 8 a Japanese bullet train locomotive (in photo provided by JR West) is to be shipped to Britain for permanent display at the National Railway Museum (NRM) in York, northern England. The locomotive car of the first generation model of bullet trains is being donated to the world's largest railway museum by the Modern Transport Museum of JR West, and will be on display from July.
